Two new narcan vending machines have been added to Durham! You can stop by
Durham County Department of Public Health, 414 E. Main St.
& Durham County Detention Center, 219 S. Mangum St.
to pick up free narcan. Keeping narcan on you is essential to helping reverse overdoses. (also p.s. pickup from the Durham County Detention Center doesn’t require any interaction with police)
Opportunities/Events/Ways to Get Involved Outside of CJAA
Join UNC SJP, GSLP, and CJAA for a disorientation event on campus this Thursday at 6pm.
This Saturday, come out to Franklin St. at 9pm to join an event “for all those sacrificed to capitalism” and “for all who desire an end to this world of genocide.”
Durham Prison Letters is hosting a letter writing event on Sunday from 12-2 at the Pinhook to write to incarcerated folks in honor of Black August.
Also join Triangle Guerilla Cinema this Sunday in Carrboro at 8pm for a screening of A is for Anarchy!!
A bit into the future, but mark your calendar for this community conversation on Sept. 11 to discuss how CPS is negatively affecting Durham families.
And also further out, Duke Academics and Staff for Palestine will have a fundraiser for Palestine on Sept. 26 at 6pm in Durham Northstar Church of the Arts.
On Sept. 21, come out to Emancipate NC’s “Freedom in the Park!”
