Urgent court support is needed tomorrow at the Durham County Courthouse! Come out to pack the court and aid the defense of families impacted by the family policing system in Durham.
Local Happenings/Opportunities/Events/Ways to Get Involved Outside of CJAA
This Friday the Marion Creek Jackson Center will be hosting a community pool party at Hargraves Community Center – call by Wednesday to reserve your spot!
CEF is currently accepting volunteer advocate applications until September 1st, this is a great way to become involved with local community organizing!
This Saturday, a Punk Benefit Show will be held at the Pinhook, 70% of the proceeds will go towards supporting local activists in the Stop MVP and Free Palestine movements!
Last Saturday was the Carrboro Really Really Free Market! If you missed it donβt worry, thereβll be another one in Raleigh next Sunday and then a special Back 2 School Free Market on Saturday the 17th.
RUMAH will be hosting a free self defense class next Sunday the 18th!
This Friday RUMAH will also be hosting an HRT kit making party on the 9th. Email chelsea@nchrc.org to RSVP!
The Emergency Mutual Aid Makerβs Market will be held next Sunday in Raleigh!
On August 24th the 9th annual Black August in the Park will be held in Durham Central Park! Black August is an event commemorating Black revolutionaries who have been unfairly imprisoned and killed.

On the 24th the One Body Initiative will also be hosting a Community Sale in Raleigh!
They are also gathering donations for hygiene baskets to send to families in Gaza!
Keep in mind that the Long March for Unity & Justice will be taking place next month from the 20th to the 29th. If you can, be sure to join the Beloved Community Center as they walk from Cullowhee to Wilmington!
